STURBRIDGE – Vivian A. (Blood) Jackson, 88, of Charlton Street, passed away peacefully on December 9, at Brookside Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Webster, MA

She leaves her husband of 70 years, Vernon “Butch” Jackson, whom she married on November 12, 1955; her daughter, Cathy Jackson Edington and her husband David of Rehoboth, MA and her son, Vernon “Butch” Jackson Jr. and his wife Jeanne of Sturbridge, MA; She is also remembered by her four grandchildren, Robert (wife Jolene) and Michael Edington, Rachel and Michelle Jackson, great grandchildren Jackson and Emmett Edington, son-in-law Bud Philbrick (wife Ginny), and by her brother, Claude (wife Anne) Gaudette of Sunrise, FL.

Vivian was predeceased by her daughter Kimberly Jackson, who passed away on December 3rd, 2005, as well as her brother, Charles Blood and her parents Joseph and Bella Gaudette;

Born in Hartford, CT, Vivian grew up in Dudley, MA, completed high school, married her high school sweetheart, accompanied her husband to France in 1956 where he was stationed with the US Air Force. They started their family in France and moved to Sturbridge upon return to the US. She worked for many years at the Old Sturbridge Village Administrative Offices and then the Bullard Tavern.

Vivian was a member of Saint Anne Saint Patrick Parish in Fiskdale, MA. She enjoyed crafting, specifically making ceramic dolls, as well as eating out at her favorite restaurants. More than anything, Vivian adored her family. She loved to spend time with them on annual vacations to Hampton Beach and Sugarloaf Mountain also family gatherings at their home on Sturbridge Common and the Cottage at Cedar Lake. There were a lot of parties!

A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 15, at 11 a.m. at Saint Anne Saint Patrick Parish, Church Street, Fiskdale. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Sturbridge. There are no calling hours.
