Vincent Yurgilas

SOUTHBRIDGE: Vincent A. Yurgilas, 89, of Woodycrest Ave. died Monday, July 27^th at Radius Healthcare. He leaves his wife of 57 years Rita (Lacasse) Yurgilas; a daughter Kathleen Grenier and her husband Scott of Southbridge, his granddaughter Cheyenne Grenier, a sister Florence Neuman of Cleveland, OH.

He was born in Cleveland, OH, the son of Vincas and Isabel (Boxter) Yurgilas. He served in the Army during WWII. He graduated from Clark University where earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.

He worked for 45 years at the American Optical Co. and retired from Norton Co. in Cranston, RI.  He wa a member of the American Optical Quarter Century Club.

He served on the Southbridge Planning Board from 1977 to 1983 and at one time he was the secretary/treasurer for the New England section of the American Industrial Hygiene Association. He enjoyed photography.

His funeral will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, Aug 1^st, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Fr. Peter Joyce will officiate.

A calling hour will be held 9:00 to 10:00 before the service.
