BRIMFIELD – Victoria Ingersoll (Virchow) Burke passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Victoria was born on September 11, 1955, in Rockland, Maine. She completed a dental hygiene program at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC) and later earned her Phlebotomy Technician certification. She enjoyed her time in both fields, but truly shined as a phlebotomist, where her skill, warmth, and caring nature helped her form lasting friendships with coworkers and patients alike.
A devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Victoria will be remembered most for her big heart, her generosity, and the unconditional love she had for her family. She had a way of putting others before herself, and everything she did was rooted in her love for those closest to her. Her family was her greatest source of pride and joy.
Victoria leaves behind her beloved husband, Michael Burke of 44 years; her daughters, Tiffany Anderson and husband Jason Anderson of Brimfield, Katelyn DePace and husband James DePace of Monson, and Mariah Brune and husband Steven Brune of Stow; her sisters, Krista Virchow of Brimfield and Carla-Jo Kaler of Rockland; and her cherished grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Brendon Anderson, Fiona Anderson, Penelope DePace, and Jackson DePace. She also leaves behind her beloved Yorkipoo companion, Lexi Burke.
Victoria was predeceased by her father, Joseph Winston Virchow, her mother, Betty Ann Ingersoll, and son Matthew Burke whose memories she carried with her throughout her life.
Victoria always held a special place in her heart for her hometown of Rockland, Maine, and loved returning to the beautiful Maine coast. She especially enjoyed visiting nearby Camden and Rockport where she loved to shop and visit Andre the Seal. Another treasured place was the family cabin on the lake in Washington, Maine where many special memories were made together.
Victoria loved gardening, reading, sunbathing, and soaking up the warm weather whenever she could. St. Maarten was one of her favorite places, and she and her husband Michael enjoyed returning there together over the years. She also had a lifelong love of music and an incredible memory for it. She could name just about any song and artist, especially when it came to the music of the ’70s and ’80s.
Above all, Victoria embraced every opportunity to be with her family. In recent years, she could often be found cheering on her grandchildren from the sidelines and in the audience, proudly attending basketball, baseball, soccer, dance, and anything else they were involved in. Being their grandmother brought her tremendous happiness, and she treasured being part of their lives.
The holidays were especially dear to Victoria. She loved bringing the family together and always went above and beyond with decorations, traditions, and celebrations. Her enthusiasm made each holiday feel special and created memories her family will carry with them for years to come.
Victoria lived her life with a generous heart and deep devotion to her family. Her love could be seen in the countless things she did for others, both big and small. She will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely, the traditions she created, and the memories she made with those she loved will remain a lasting part of the family she cherished do dearly.
Her legacy lives on through her husband, daughters, sisters, grandchildren, and all those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
