Tolek D. Rakowski

SOUTHBRIDGE — Tolek D. Rakowski, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 21st, 2026.

Tolek is survived by his beloved wife, Harriet (Perreault) Rakowski, whom he was with for 40 years; his son Matthew Rakowski of Webster, his daughter, Stephanie Silva and her husband Nicolas of Hudson. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Richard Perreault and his wife Kelly of Southbridge, and Raymond Morse Jr and his wife Amanda of Southbridge, and Maggie Morse of North Carolina. He was also known as Opa to 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, whom he loved dearly. 

He is also predeceased by his brother, Marion Rakowski, and his sister, Karen Rakowski.

Tolek was born in Stuttgart, Germany, on November 30, 1953, to the late Marion and Walburga (Menzel) Rakowski. He and his family later moved to the United States, where Tolek attended Southbridge schools and graduated from Southbridge High School. He went on to build a long career in fiber optics, working for Schotts Fiber Optics for more than 43 years.

Outside of work, Tolek found great joy in the outdoors. He loved spending time on the water aboard his boat. He especially loved to ride in his mustang and his Harley. He also had a passion for RC planes and drones. When he wasn't enjoying the outdoors, Tolek could often be found watching football, especially his beloved Patriots. His dog, Storm, was his best friend and constant companion.

Tolek will be remembered by his family and friends for the life he shared with those he loved and the many interests that brought him happiness throughout the years.
