Thomas P. Baltazar Sr.

HOLLAND: Thomas Patrick Baltazar Sr, 88 of Holland and Marlbrough, passed on, March 31, 2023, at UMASS/Memorial Healthcare in Worcester.

Thomas leaves his daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Fran Gallo of Marlborough; his sister Anne Martell of Dana Point California; and his nephew Christian Wallace.

Born February 15, 1935 in Bronx, NY, son to the late Frances and Marion (Masterson) Baltazar. He was predeceased by his son Thomas P. Baltazar, Jr. in 1993, his 2 brothers Kevin Masterson and Frank Baltazar, and his sister Winnie Morrisey.

Thomas was a Veteran of the Korean war. He served in the Navy from 1952 until 1956, and was deployed overseas during his service.

He went on to work for Pan Am Airlines and World Airways as an engineer and mechanic until his retirement in 1997.

Thomas continued to do what he loved and was employed by the Town of Holland doing water testing, working for the Board of Health.

After retiring, Thomas embraced his passion for stained glass and taught the trade to hundreds of students at the Holland Community Center for over 20 years, additionally teaching at the Sturbridge and Stafford Senior Centers. He loved the sea and enjoyed fishing whenever he could find the time.  Although his home in Holland was destroyed by a fire, and was temporarily located in Marlborough, he was looking forward to returning to Holland where he felt the most at home with all his students, friends and colleagues.  He was a member of St. Anne's Church and St. Bartholomeus Church. 

Calling hours will be held on Saturday May 6^th from 10AM-12PM at the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, with at Service at 12PM, followed by a burial at Holland Cemetery, 29 Brimfield Rd. Holland approximately 12:45.  Service will be given by longtime friend of Holland, Pastor Bruce, during calling hours.
