Southbridge/Morriston, FL: Theresa “Yvette” (Gaumond) Tretheway, age 89, formerly of Southbridge, peacefully passed away on September 4, 2025, at Tampa General Hospital in Crystal River, FL.
Yvette was predeceased by her beloved husband Eugene Sr. in 2019. She is survived by her son, Eugene Tretheway Jr. and his wife, Sue, of Morriston, FL; three daughters, Debbie and her husband Bob Sellers of Provincetown, Cheryl Farraher of Hudson, FL, and Annie and her husband George Chenier of Southbridge. She was also a devoted sister to Rita Beauregard Roland Gaumond, and a loving grandmother to 7 grandchildren: Eugene III, Robert, Jason, Gary, Richard, Korey, and Michael. Yvette was especially proud of her 9 great-grandchildren: Matt, Nick, Courtney, Jaclyn, Jeremy, Cheyanne, Adrianna, Austin, Hannah, as well as her 10 great-great-grandchildren: Colton, Harper, Madilynn, Preston, Payton , Tenleigh, Zane, Leianna, Maverik, And Remington. She was predeceased by her brothers, Harvey and Gerard (G.G.), And her Granddaughter Dawn Lachapelle.
Born in Grosvenordale, CT, Yvette was the daughter of Arthur and Alexandrina (Labonte) Gaumond. She spent the majority of her life in the Southbridge/Charlton area before relocating to Morriston, FL in 1995. Yvette dedicated 20 + years of her professional life working at the American Optical Company in Southbridge.
Yvette’s home in Charlton and Southbridge was a welcoming hub for family gatherings, known for her delicious food and joyful atmosphere. In her later years in Florida, she enjoyed playing Bingo, and music trivia, but above all, she treasured the time spent with her family.
Yvette, Mom, Mem, will be dearly missed but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
A private service is planned at a later date.
Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA
