NORTH GRAFTON: Suzanne Evelyn Bouvier, 66, formerly of Framingham and the Southbridge-Sturbridge area, passed away on Wednesday, November 5th, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Bouvier in 2014, her sister-in-law, Dale Renell-Bouvier, and her nephew, Steven Bouvier.

Born in Southbridge to the late Albert and Evelyn (Kollett) Bouvier, Suzanne was a passionate learner, graduating from UMASS Amherst before earning her Master’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences at UMASS Worcester. She was married to her high school sweetheart, John Daniel, for ten years. She dedicated many years to scientific research, including publications in the scientific journals Cell and Journal of Molecular Biology. Her publications are among the most cited articles in the field, including in textbooks. She worked at Meditech for more than ten years before retiring in 2020.

In her leisure time, Suzanne loved reading, solving puzzles, playing cards, and creating art. She cherished her family and their traditions, including bi-annual vacations in York, Maine, visiting Rhode Island beaches, and pie-baking. An avid traveler, Suzanne sailed the Mediterranean Sea on a wooden tall ship, snorkeled in the Galapagos Islands, attended theater in London’s West End, hiked Cinque Terra, and camped across the US with her husband and children.

Suzanne will be remembered not only for her accomplishments and the love she shared with her family and friends, but her insatiable curiosity, sense of humor, quick wit, and generosity of spirit.
