Susan L. Bourdelais

SOUTHBRIDGE: Susan Laura Bourdelais, 75, of Southbridge, passed away on November 11, 2022, at Harrington Hospital.

Susan was predeceased by her husband David Bourdelais I, in 1997 and her daughter, Elizabeth Bourdelais in 1998. 

Susan leaves behind her sons David Bourdelais, II of Sand Springs, Oklahoma and Michael Matthew Ringeisen of Webster.

Susan was born in Northampton MA daughter of the late Joe Lycurgus Brand, Jr. and Lorretta Mathieu.

Susan graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1964 and went on to college at Georgetown where she graduated with her bachelor’s degree in bacteriology in 1966. 

Susan worked at Southbridge Livery Service for many years as a driver, driving instructor, and a safety and drug testing coordinator. She later drove school bus for the town or Sturbridge. She loved the children. A child was never harmed on her watch. After her retirement she worked as a crossing guard at Trinity Catholic Academy. She still wanted to keep the children safe.  Her love for kids led her to become a published children's book author.  Her creative focus was helping children to understand age related information about the wildlife she encountered in her travels

As a part of her retirement, she loved to travel the world. She had been to Egypt, South and Central America, Mexico, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to the ASPCA in memory of Susan.

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 10:30AM, in the chapel at New Notre Dame Cemetery, Woodstock Rd. Southbridge.
