Steven leaves behind his brother Paul Alger of Southbridge; his best girl Lynne of Feeding Hills; his lap warmer Buddy; his aunt Patricia Schellhammer of Fiskdale; and his good friend Robert Renaud of Southbridge. Steven graduated from Bay Path Vocational School, Johnson and Wales Culinary School, and Westfield State College where he earned his Master Degree. Steven enjoyed golfing, barbecues at the lake house, playing cards, watching Jeopardy he never missed an episode, his spectacular fireworks display over the lake every 4th of July, going to the casino, and attending concerts. He attended multiple Rolling Stone concerts. He enjoyed people and always had a joke or two to tell.
