STURBRIDGE: Ruth M. (Jenkins) Bullard, 87, formerly of Poplar Ave. died Tuesday, Nov. 5, at Overlook Healthcare in Charlton.
Her husband Robert Bullard died in 2007.
She leaves 2 daughters Karen Leo and her husband Frank of Brookfield, Beth DiPersio and her husband Mike of Clifton Park, NY, 2 sons Eric Bullard and his wife Anita of Charlton, Mark Bullard of Lee, NH, a brother Walter Jenkins of Framingham, 7 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by 2 sisters Myra O’Connell and Peggy Leonard .
Ruth was a Registered Nurse serving in the Air Force as a First Lieutenant Fight Nurse during the Korean War.
She enjoyed her home, baking for her children and grandchildren. She cherished her independence, bird watching and vacationing on the Maine shoreline.
Ruth attended Notre Dame church when her health allowed.
Her funeral will be held at 9:00AM Saturday, November 9, from the Belanger-Bullard Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge followed with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton St. Southbridge. Burial with full military honors will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are Friday, Nov, 8 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM in the funeral home.
