Southbridge: Ruben Soto, 91, of Charlton St., died Monday, at his home after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 65 years Olga Montalvo, a son Nathanael Soto, of FL. 3 daughters Irma Soto of Philadelphia, PA., Irene Soto of Ecuador, Mirta Rivera with whom he lived, a brother Juan Soto of Dorado, PR., 8 grandchildren Omar Rivera, Ivan Rivera, Vivian Overby, Ruben Martinez, Jose Serrano JR., Brenda Lee Surrett, Dianna Soto, William Rosario, 13 great grandchildren Lizbeth Rivera, Keyla Rivera, Noemi Rivera, Vivian Natal, Teresa Hill, Nana Deleon, Kalia Martinez, Izaiah Martinez, Rebekah Serrano, Hannah Serrano, Isabel Serrano, Samuel Serrano, Abelard Surrett, Elbina Surrett.
He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico the son of Isaias Soto and Maria Centeno. He worked for Vega Baja Public School. He was also a volunteer firefighter in Arecibo P.R.
He was a member of Iglesia Pentecostal Del Dios Vivo Inc in Southbridge. He spent countless hours doing missionary work for the church.
His funeral will be held on Monday, March 25 at 10AM in the Iglesia Pentecostal Del Dios Vivo Inc, 125 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 9PM, Sunday March 24 in the church.
