STURBRIDGE: Robert Tinker, 78, of Sturbridge, MA, died peacefully on December 27, 2013. Robert was born June 15, 1935 in Stafford Springs, CT to Carlton and Elise (Scranton) Tinker. He worked as a banker and retired in July 1994 as a Vice President for Shawmut Bank in Springfield, MA. In retirement he enjoyed golfing with his friend Ferdinand and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was predeceased by his brother Francis Tinker and sister Ella Lataille (Tinker). He is survived by his sister Betty Vilandre (Tinker), his niece Carol Poitres (Lataille) who helped care for him during his last few months, and several other loving family members. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. at Union Center Cemetery, Union, CT on Saturday, May 3, 2014. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that any gifts be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Rd., Worcester, MA 01602. Belanger-Bullard funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, MA is handling arrangements.
