Rita Smith

BRIMFIELD / SOUTHBRIDGE – Rita C. (Perry) Smith, 92, of Apple Rd., formerly of Southbridge, died Thursday, January 7, at UMASS  Medical Center, University Campus.  Her husband, William A. Smith, died in 1987.  She leaves a son, William Smith, and his wife, Sharon, of Brimfield; one brother, Harold Perry, of Arkansas; 8 grandchildren, William C. Smith, Kimberly Ferron, Jennifer Poirier, Wendy Degenhardt, James Partlow, Craig Partlow, Kyle Partlow, and Marc Partlow; 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  A daughter, Rita C. Smith, died in 1988. 

She was born in Webster, the daughter of the late Harold and Anastacia (Lilla) Perry.  She graduated from Charlton High School.  She was employed by the Barnet Hospital in Patterson, NJ where she was the Head of Food Services.  She was also employed by Center Pharm.  She was a member of the 1199 National Hospital Union and St. Mary’s Church.  Mrs. Smith enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

A private service will be held in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge.  Burial will be at Oak Ridge Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.  An online guestbook is available at www.BelangerFuneralHome.com.
