Priscilla Maynard

July 17, 1917 — January 9, 2016

CHARLTON:  Priscilla A. (Fish) Maynard, 98, of Charlton died on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in her home after a short illness.  She was born on July 17, 1917 in Atlantic, MA (now North Quincy) to the late Andrew J. Fish and Luella O. (Glynn) Fish.  Her sisters, Doris M. (Fish) Racicot and Winnifred (Fish) Chipman predeceased her.  She was married to Albert M. Maynard, who also predeceased her in death in 1986.  Survivors include her daughter, Jane A. (Maynard) Wrona and her son-in-law, Stanley Wrona of Charlton; her son, Kenneth A. Maynard, and his wife Linda A. Maynard of Southbridge; her grandchildren Tanya L. Lacayo of South Pasadena, CA, Heather D. Maynard of Southbridge, MA and Brianna L. Graffagnino of Nederland, TX and two great grandchildren. As a youth, Priscilla was a Past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and enjoyed spending her summers at Sandwich Beach on Cape Cod.  She spent her school years in Whitman, MA where she was Captain of the girl's basketball team and graduated from Whitman High School in 1935.  She later attended and graduated from the Wilfred Academy School of Cosmetology (hairdressing school).  She had her own cosmetology business during the Second World War and post war years and worked at the American Optical Company, retiring in 1979.  After retirement she loved spending much quality time with her family, home cooking, and especially playing bridge with her close friends.  She took pride in being a direct descendant of John Howland, of the Mayflower which came to America in 1620. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Warren Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School.    <iframe id="tukios_player_512x330" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/LGTMPCFHPCQG2RM6" width="512"></iframe>
