Michael B. Sgariglia

Michael B. Sgariglia, a beloved husband, partner, stepdad, and friend passed on from this world and onto the next adventure peacefully on November 22 with loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with a rare lung cancer at the age of 59.

Mike will be deeply missed by his wife and best friend of 25 years Cynthia Lemieux and stepdaughter Allicia who have stood by his side throughout his journey.

He leaves behind his father Anthony E. Sgariglia, brother Anthony J, Sgariglia, and sister Susan Saad, all of Oxford, his much-loved stepdaughter Allicia Derosier and her husband Steve of Uxbridge, along with 5 sisters-in-law. He also leaves behind many cherished friends whose lives he touched for the better. He was a gentle soul, kind, caring, compassionate, a natural leader, and mentor.

He is predeceased by his beloved mother Judith B, (Holmes) Sgariglia, brother Joseph P, Sgariglia, sister Sandra Moody, and his cherished grandson Xander Cormier.

He was born in Webster, raised in Oxford, and lived many wonderful years in Auburn. He graduated from Bay Path in Charlton where he laid the foundation for hard work, quality workmanship, and success in any career he chose.

For the past decade, Mike worked as a Senior Lead Rebar Detailer for Nucor (formerly Harris Rebar) in Milford. Prior to that, he served as manager for Bonsai West Nursery in Littleton for many years. Mike's dedication and drive for excellence made a lasting impression on his colleagues, friends, family, and those he served.

Mike was an active member and past Master of Quinebaug Lodge of Masons A.F.&A.M. in Southbridge. His craftsmanship extended beyond his professional life as he created a beautiful chain mail apron that he shared with the Masonic community in the 24th district. He further showcased his talent by crafting and selling several medieval stainless steel pieces.

In his leisure time, Mike enjoyed indulging in woodworking, maintaining saltwater fish tanks, tending to his yard, and planning exciting travels with his beloved wife Cyndi. They cherished moments spent together around their fire pit with family, appreciating the simple pleasures that life had to offer.

Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their respects at a funeral service to be held on Thursday, November 30 at 6 pm at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, located at 51 Marcy St in Southbridge. A calling hour will precede the service from 5 pm to 6 pm.
