SOUTHBRIDGE: Maura A. (Downs) St. Pierre,65, of Clemence Hill Road, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 21, after a courageous battle with illness.
Beloved wife to Kevin St. Pierre for 36 cherished years, Maura leaves behind a family rich with love and memories. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Lagacy, Michael St. Pierre and his wife Tiffany of Warren, and her daughters, Becky-Lee St. Pierre of Webster, Kathleen Lagacy of Mashpee, Mary Vizard and her husband Corey of Warren, alongside six adored grandchildren: Mackenzie, Airabella, Matthew, Emily, Mariah, Abigail, nephew James DownsII and her dear friend Pattie Prudhomme.
Together again in eternity, Maura reunites with her son Kevin St. Pierre Jr., whose life was tragically cut short on February 11, 2015.
Born to the late James and Shiela (Toomey) Downs, Maura spent her life in Southbridge, a town she held dear. A proud graduate of Tantasqua Regional High School in 1979, she pursued her passion for nursing—a field where her compassion knew no bounds. She earned her Licensed Practical Nurse qualification at Dale Fanning School of Practical Nurses and furthered her expertise at Quinsigamond College, Mt. Wachusett's College, and Anna Maria College, where she obtained her BSN.
Maura’s life was a testament to selflessness and devotion. Her career as a nurse was not just a profession; it was her calling—each day an opportunity to touch lives and provide comfort. Her vibrant spirit found joy in travel, particularly journeys to Disney, where magic came alive. Her flair extended to her meticulous attention to makeup, always gracefully presented.
A private service was held, and she now rests peacefully beside her beloved son Kevin at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Arrangements were respectfully managed by Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, Southbridge.
