Marilyn Dolan

CHARLTON: Marilyn J. (Garrand) Dolan, 49, of Main Street, passed away on Tuesday, October 13 in Overlook Masonic Health Center surrounded by her family after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 12 years, Thomas Dolan, three beloved children: Thomas, Lillian and Madison Dolan, all at home; seven brothers: Gordon Garrand and his wife Ruth of Effort, PA, Charles Garrand and his wife Joyce of Holland, MA, Raymond Garrand of N. Bangor, N.Y., Michael Garrand of Brusthton, N.Y., Ralph Garrand of Chateguay, N.Y., Mark Garrand of Constable, N.Y. and Donald Garrand of Chateguay, N.Y.; five sisters: Juanita Roach and her husband Bill of Sutton, MA, Gloria Newman of Torrington, CT, Roberta Hyde and her husband Kyle of Westfield, N.Y. and Theresa Johnston of Malone, N.Y and many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister Joanne Garrand.

Marilyn was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Charles & Bertha (Peltier) Garrand Sr. Marilyn graduated from Malone High School in New York.  Marilyn worked in the postal service for twenty years and for the past six years worked as a clerk in the Charlton Post Office.  Marilyn especially enjoyed time spent shopping.  Marilyn will be remembered for her love and devotion to her children.  She will be deeply missed.   

Calling hours will be held Friday night from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Belanger Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 17 at 9:30 A.M.  in Central Baptist Church,  256 Main Street, Southbridge.  Burial will follow in West Ridge Cemetery, Main Street, Charlton. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38105.
