Mangie Lovett Browne

With profound sadness, the Browne, Grimes, Mason, and Ponder Families announce the death of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Mangie Grimes-Browne. This sad event occurred at approximately 8:50 am on Sunday, August 23, 2026 at her home in Southbridge, MA. She was predeceased by her husband, Hibbard D. Browne, her parents, F. Tarr Grimes, Sr., and Grace L. Ponder-Cooke, her children, Naveda S, Tarr B, and Prince Delano Browne; her grandson Prince (Pookie) Browne, her great-grandson, Dante Carlor, her cousin-sister, Frances Mason-Harmon, as well as several siblings.

Left to mourn her loss are her children, Madia Lorraine Brumskine, Graciene Riche (Yves), Yarnga Browne, and Attia Browne; her sisters, including Mrs. Tarrina Grimes-Kpardeh of Monrovia, Liberia, Doris Grimes of Houston, Texas, Sundayma, and Yatta Grimes of Liberia, her brothers, Hitler, Henry, and Richard Grimes, 23 grandchildren, including Desmond Kamara of Worcester, Massachusetts, 15 great-grandchildren, 3 great, great-grandchildren, many cousins, including Dr. J Melvin Mason, Georgia Selli, Dorothy Hoff and her children, Ms. Jeanette Ponder, F. Tarr Harris, her church families, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation and Wake for Mangie is from 5PM-9PM at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, Massachusetts 01550.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00AM at House of Destiny Church, 104 Everett Street, Southbridge, Massachusetts. Burial will follow at St. Hedwig Cemetery, 663 N Woodstock Rd in Southbridge.
