Loretta Miknaitis

Loretta was predeceased by her husband of sixty -seven years, John Miknaitis in 2007 and was the last remaining child of 13 children of Alexander and Odila Mailhot.

Loretta is survived by a son: John Miknaitis and his wife Darlene of Louisiana, two daughters: Patricia LeDonne and her husband Sal of Southbridge and Loretta Medeiros and her husband Paul of Brimfield; 8 grandchildren: Tina, Michael, Amy, Sonia, Shannon, Tracy, Lori and Craig, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.

Loretta was born on August 26, 1918 in Lowell, VT the daughter of the late Alexander and Odila (Giroux) Mailhot. She worked for Bullard’s Tavern in Old Sturbridge Village for thirty years until her retirement in 1980 and following retirement she was a consultant. Loretta was a member of the Sturbridge Senior Center, enjoyed crafts, was an avid reader and loved to play cards. She was a parishioner at St. Anne’s Parish in Sturbridge.

Calling hours for Loretta will be held Monday, February 15, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday February 16th at St. Anne’s Parish, 16 Church Street, Fiskdale, MA 01518 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Anne’ Cemetery, Arnold Road, Sturbridge, MA.
