Leonard Madelle

September 29, 1925 — January 13, 2012

 

WALES: Leonard Madelle, 86, of Royce Lane, Wales, died Friday, Jan. 13 after an illness. His wife Ethel (Berry) Madelle died in 1997.

He leaves a brother Armand Madelle of Palmer, a sister Annette Lord of Monson and several nephews and nieces. He was predeacesed by Edna Berthiaume, Lorraine Hebert, Blanche Berthiaume, Hazel Besette, Irene Roso.

 

 He was born in Palmer the son of the late William and Antoinette (Pinpare) Madelle and lived in the Southbridge and Wales. He worked for the American Optical Co. for 28 years and retired from Russell Harrington Cutlery.

 

He enjoyed racing and was a pit steward at Thompson Racetrack. He NASCAR enthusiast Leonard enjoyed fishing and was fond of animals.

 

His funeral will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, Jan. 18, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
