Lauretta Mathieu

January 26, 1922 — May 27, 2005

Lauretta A. Mathieu, 83, of Worcester St. died Friday May 27, in UMASS Memorial Medical Center after an illness. She leaves a daughter Susan L. Bourdelais of Southbridge, a brother Henry Mathieu of Easthampton, two grandsons David Bourdelais and his wife Laura and Michael Ringeisen. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Liz Bourdelais, a son-in-law David Bourdelais, five brothers Victor Mathieu, Armand Mathieu, Leopold Mathieu, Theodore Mathieu, Eugene Mathieu and three sisters Claire LeClair, Claudie Mathieu, Jeanette Undergraves. Born in Southbridge the daughter of Hermenegilde and Lydia (Poirer) Mathieu and lived in Southbrodge all her life She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School. She was a Corporal in the US Marine' s during WWII stationed in Cherry Point. She was a member of Notre Dame parish, the Harrington Hospital Women' s Auxiliary and retired from the American Optical Co. and belonged to the firm' s Quarter Century Club. She enjoyed doing crafts and going shopping. Her funeral will be held Monday, May 30, from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, with a Mass at TWO PM in Notre Dame Church 446 Main St. A calling hour will be held in the funeral home, from 12:45 to 1:45. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner' s Hospital for Children 516 Carew St. Springfield, Ma. 01104. An online guest book is available at www.belangerfuneralhome.com
