CHARLTON – Laura A. Normandin, 65, of Center Depot Road, passed away peacefully at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge on December 30th, 2025.
Laura is survived by her partner of 14 years, Robin Belisle, as well as her daughters, Tiffany Cleveland and her husband Mark, and Leanne Normandin, all of Southbridge. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Colin, Bailey, and Brianna.
She was predeceased by her sister, Debrorah Davis.
Laura was born in Southbridge to the late Roy Provost and Carolyn (Leigh) Allen, both having been born in Southbridge as well. She went to Shepherd Hill Regional High School and then continued her education at Worcester State University. While there, she pursued a challenging course of study, majoring in both English and Elementary Education. Upon completion of her studies, Laura graduated with honors (Cum Laude) and was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree for both disciplines.
With her teaching license, along with a passion for the English language, Laura hoped to find a teaching position where she would be able to help children learn to read, to express themselves in the written word, as well as to build solid foundations on which to build their future studies upon. Laura worked as a teacher for thirteen years, first at Adam Street School, as a reading specialist in their Success for All Program, and then as both a third and fifth-grade classroom teacher at Yeshiva Academy.
Having a compassionate heart, Laura was drawn to humanitarian causes, to situations where she could help improve the lives of others. This she did, for over twenty-six years, while working in direct care/managerial positions at Venture Community Services and Open Sky Community Services.
Laura was known to be an avid reader and a talented writer. She loved discussing the books she read with others, leading her to form a book club which met regularly for many years. She loved music and the theater, going to New York, Boston, and Providence, among others, to attend concerts or musicals. Laura loved to travel. With Robin, she enjoyed taking trips to faraway places such as Hawaii, Canada and Mexico, as well as slightly more local destinations like Cape Cod. She also liked traveling with her family, taking trips to New York and Florida. A family-oriented woman, Laura loved her grandchildren more than anything and absolutely loved to spend time with family whenever she could.
Keeping with Laura’s belief regarding the importance of supporting humanitarian causes that help improve the lives of others, it is suggested that donations be made to Abby’s House, 52 High Street, Worcester, MA 01609, or at https://abbyshouse.org/donate in lieu of flowers.
Calling hours for Laura will be on Monday, January 12th, from 5PM – 7PM, at the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, in Southbridge.
