L. Stanley Regis

September 13, 1925 — June 21, 2012

SOUTHBRIDGE: L.Stanley Regis,Jr 86,. died peacefully June 21, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Stan was born in Southbridge September 13, 1925.


He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Linda Dubreuil Regis, his daughter, Susanne G. Regis of Charlton, his daughter, Linda M. Neff and her husband Harry D. Neff II of Webster and his sister
Therese Ryan of Silver Springs, Maryland. He is also survived by two step brothers, Ronald Gamache and his wife, Carol, of Westfield, and Philip Gamache and his wife, Joyce of East Longmeadow.

Stanley has five grandchildren, Kim, Kristin, Kelly, Kathy and Harry D. Neff III as well as seven great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. He will be missed by all.

He was predeceased by his step-father, Raymond Chamberlin, two stepbrothers, John and Gordon Chamberlin and two stepsisters, P
olly Chamberlin and Betty Walters.

Stan will be remembered for his outgoing personality, sense of humor and his generosity and willingness to help his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as playing poker and cribbage. He looked forward to enjoying summers at his camp on Glen Echo Lake
in Charlton and trips to Drake’s Island in Maine.

He was past president of the Hamilton Rod and Gun Club, past president of the Glen Echo Lake Association and past president of the Wednesday night cribbage league. He was also a member of the VFW and Leonard Lemire American Legion.

Stan attended Cole Trade High School and worked at the American Optical Company. When Pearl Harbor was attacked he enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and served aboard the USS Ordronaux. He served in the European-African Middle East Area and Asiatic Pacific area. He was discharged from the Navy on April 18, l946 and continued his education at Cole Trade High School graduating with the class of 1947 where he served as Treasurer of said class. Stan continued working for American Optical, Warner-Lambert and Cabot Safety until his retirement in 1994 after 50 years of service. Thereafter he was hired as a self-employed consultant for two additional years.

His family would like to thank the staff at Radius Health Care Center in Southbridge for the care and compassion shown during the last month he was a patient there particularly the staff on the 4th Floor and the PT & OT men and woman.

His funeral will be, Tuesday, June 26, from the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St, Southbridge followed with a Mass at 11:00AM  in Blessed John Paul II Parishes at St. Mary’s Church, Hamilton St. Southbridge, MA.

Calling hours are 9:00AM to 10:30AM, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge, before his Funeral Mass.
