Joseph Boudreau Jr.

Southbridge- Joseph A. Boudreau Jr., 91, formerly of the Fiskdale section of Sturbridge, a proud WWII Army Veteran, passed away on December 5, 2017. His wife of 65 years, Gladys ( Coon ) Boudreau, passed away in February. Joe was born in Sturbridge to the late Joseph A. and Regina ( Girard ) Boudreau. He attended local schools and earned a Bachelor’s degree from American International College in 1951. He also served as Deputy Director for the town of Sturbridge Civil Defense. Joe became the acting Post Master of the Fiskdale Post office in 1953 where he remained until his retirement. He was an avid reader and enjoyed working with Computers and was a lifelong Ham radio operator (W1NMQ). Joe and Gladys loved their home and yard as well as traveling, especially to Vermont or the Maine coast.

Joe is survived by his niece, Cheryl Soper of Brookfield, nephew, Brian Boudreau of Pittsfield, sister in law, Barbara Boudreau, and by several great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was predeceased by a brother, David G. Boudreau in 2003.

 

Joe will be laid to rest in a private service at St. Anne's Cemetery in Fiskdale next to his beloved wife Gladys.
