John Fitts

STURBRIDGE – John “ Jack” Fitts, 82, of Sturbridge, passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025, at Southbridge Rehabilitation and Healthcare.

Born on July 7, 1943, in Southbridge, MA, John was the son of the late Venna and Evelyn Fitts. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Fitts.

He graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School in 1961.

After graduating from high school, he pursued a career as a lens maker, at the American Optical, dedicating his working years to the optical field.

Jack was a classic movie buff. He enjoyed learning about the history of the classic movies. He could often be seen at the Publick House where he enjoyed their food and a drink of spirits.

Although John lived a quiet life, those who knew him appreciated his witty and sometimes delightfully quirky sense of humor, a trait that will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Services for John were private and are entrusted to Belanger Bullard Funeral Home.
