Jean Bucknam

 SOUTHBRIDGE:  Jean (Macallister) Miller-Bucknam, 97, of 19  Gerard St., died, Saturday, Dec. 21 at Southbridge Healthcare and Rehab.  Her husband, Richard Bucknam, died in 2009, and her first husband, Clarence “Bugs” Miller, died in 1997. She leaves 3 daughters; Barbara Cleri and her husband Tony of Davie, FL., Rebecca Spiro of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Kathryn Lapriore and her husband Tom of Southbridge, 8 grandchildren; Lisa Shepard and her husband Matt, Christina Thomas and her husband Steve, Michael Spiro and his wife Andrea, Jonathan Lapriore and his wife Erin, Jessica Reed and her husband Jeff, Robert Cleri, Barton Cleri, and Cindy Santaite;  and 12 great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a great-granddaughter Acacia Cleri, and a son-in-law Peter Spiro, a brother Richard Macallister, and her sister Dorothy Locke.  Jean was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Richard and Alice (Hyde) Macallister,  and lived in the area all her life. She graduated from Mary E. Wells High School.  She spent her entire career working in fine clothing stores such as Louis Dress shop and Goodwin’s Clothing Store, both in Southbridge.  She was a very active member of the Elm Street Congregational Church and was a member of its Women’s Fellowship. She also was a member of the Southbridge Women's Club, the Quinnebaug Valley Singers and Harrington Hospital Auxiliary.  Jean was an avid Red Sox fan, enjoyed playing bridge, but most of all she was warm and caring to her family and friends and had a wonderful sense of humor. Her funeral service will be held at 3:30PM Sunday, Dec. 29, in the Elm Street Congregational Church.  Calling hours are Sunday, Dec, 29, from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home for the service at the church.  Burial will be Monday, Dec. 30, at 10:00AM in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Southbridge.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Elm Street Congregational Church, PO BOX 723, Southbridge, MA 01550
