Jacquline A. Castonguay

SOUTHBRIDGE Jacqueline “Jackie” A. Castonguay passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at 5:57 p.m., following a short illness, surrounded by her family.

Jackie was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on December 16, 1949, to Rita (Spenard) and Romeo Adelard Gauthier. In 1953, she survived a house fire that claimed the lives of her mother and two sisters, Constance and Priscilla. She was later adopted by Leopold and Rose Spenard. Jackie graduated from Marianhill High School in Southbridge, Massachusetts, in 1967.

On December 15, 1972, Jackie married Paul L. Castonguay. She was his loving wife until his passing on March 20, 2009, and continued to write him anniversary cards in the years that followed. She was preceded in death by their infant son, Jacob, who died in 1974.

Jackie is survived by her children: Jesse Castonguay and his wife, Krystal, of Southbridge; Amber Duren and her husband, Jaquorie, of Lewisville, Texas; and Micah Castonguay of Brooklyn, Connecticut. She also leaves her sister, Theresa Gauthier-Cadarette, and her brother, Joseph Robert Leo Gauthier, and his wife, Diane.

Her grandchildren are Brandon Castonguay and his wife, Abigail; Malachi Castonguay of Southbridge; Carter Castonguay and his wife, Morgyn, of Centerville, Massachusetts; Noah Castonguay of Brooklyn, Connecticut; Remington Harmon, and Mariah and Leilani Duren, all of Lewisville, Texas; and Tevin Tremblay of Taunton. Her great-grandchildren are Hunter and Easton Castonguay and Parker Castonguay.

Jackie was an avid gardener who enjoyed feeding and caring for the birds. Her beloved dog, Kilo, was often by her side. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest pride. She was a faithful member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses until her passing. She will be dearly missed and forever remembered with love by her family and friends.

Services for Jackie will be at a later date and are entrusted to the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.
