Howard Buckley

Howard Everett Buckley of Chevy Chase, Maryland, died Monday August 22, 2011 at the age of 87.  He was the brother of Donald, John, and Walter Gray Jr., of Southbridge. Howard graduated from Hobart College in 1947. Between 1943-1946, he served in the US Army ( 103rd Infantry Division, 409th Regiment).  He received several medals and campaign ribbons for his service. In 1981 he retired from the Department of State after serving for 26 years.

Howard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eve Buckley, 2 daughters; Catherine Kormann of North Bethesda, MD, and Elizabeth Buckley of Reston, VA; a son Geoffrey Buckley of Athens, Ohio, and his six beloved grandchildren; Roger, Andrew, Claire, Ingrid, Peter and Owen.

A service will be held Saturday September 10, 10:00am at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 446 Hamilton Street, Southbridge. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
