Gloria D. Blauvelt

CHARLTON – Gloria D. Blauvelt, 89, formerly of Center Depot Road, passed away on September 5, 2026, at Brookside Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, after a period of declining health.

Born on October 2, 1936, in Worcester, MA, Gloria was the daughter of the late William H. Blauvelt, Sr. and Phyllis (Ham) Blauvelt. She attended Southbridge schools before the family moved to Charlton, later graduating from Charlton High School, Class of 1956.

As a member of the Charlton City United Methodist Church, Gloria enjoyed being a part of the community. She was a member of Old Sturbridge Village for many years and was happiest when spending the day there. Gloria enjoyed reading and working on her miniature dollhouses. She especially loved recording the growth of her nephews and nieces through photos taken with her Polaroid camera.

Gloria is survived by her brother William H. Blauvelt, Jr., of Dudley, her sister Jane Desmarais of Spencer, and her sister-in-law Claudia Blauvelt of Charlton. She will also be fondly remembered by her nephews and nieces: Richard Blauvelt, Heather Blanchard, Tammy Robidoux and Raymond Stacy. She was predeceased by her brother Paul W. Blauvelt and sister Gretchen P. Blauvelt.

Our family would like to extend our appreciation to the staff at Brookside Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center for the loving care and compassion given to Gloria during her time there.

Services for Gloria will be on Saturday, September 19th, at 1PM at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA 01550.

Burial will be private at West Ridge Cemetery, at a later date.
