George J. Abdella III

SOUTHBRIDGE - George J. Abdella III, 64, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 11, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with diabetes.

Born in Worcester, George was the son of Dorothy Wagner Abdella Bourassa and predeceased by his father George Abdella Jr. and his older brother Mark Abdella. He was a graduate of Tantasqua Regional high school class of 1979. Throughout his life George was a professional driver.

He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Wagner Abdella Bourassa of Southbridge, his son George J. Abdella IV of Charlton, his brother Gregg Abdella and his wife Stacy, his grandson, Jeremiah Abdella and his niece, Jasmine Shaw Abdella.

George was a devoted family man who treasured the moments spent with his beloved grandson, Jeremiah.

He found joy in simple pleasures such as enjoying a good cigar, fishing alongside his brother Gregg Abdella and the faithful dog, Abby, and nurturing plants with his remarkable green thumb. 

George shared a special bond with his brother, Mark, both worked as taxi drivers and took great pleasure in each other's company.

A loving and dedicated son, George cared deeply for his mother, providing her with support and companionship and they remained best friends throughout his life. 

His family and friends remember him fondly for his dedication and joy he found in simple pleasures.

Services for George are private and are entrusted to the Belanger Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, in Southbridge.
