Evelyn Simpson

STURBRIDGE: Evelyn F. (Davidson) Simpson born March 11, 1920 in Millbury, MA passed away August 1, 2020.  Evelyn was the daughter of William D and Lavinia (Knight) Davidson.  Her husband, William T. Simpson, passed away on January 13, 2004 and they were married for 62 years.  Evelyn is survived by her two sons David W. and wife Marcia of Sturbridge, Paul J. of Sturbridge and two daughters Linda A. and husband Bruce Bouthillier of Dudley and Diane R. of Holland and former daughter-in-law Jane Simpson of Sturbridge. Evelyn leaves five grandchildren – Michael Simpson and wife Michelle of Florida, Stephen Simpson of Brimfield, Tracy wife of Christopher Rovezzi of Sturbridge, Matthew Simpson and wife Holly of Sturbridge and Andrew Simpson and wife Christy of Ware. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren – Nicolas, Evan and Brady Simpson, Sofia Rovezzi, William, Ingrid and Heidi Simpson and Logan and Kylar Simpson,. Also, numerous nieces and nephews as well as great,  great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was the youngest of seven brothers and five sisters who have all passed.  She grew up in Charlton and graduated from Charlton High School and Becker Business School in Worcester. She worked at the American Optical Corp., Heritage Hill Inn in Holland and was the secretary for the Town of Sturbridge Finance Committee. Evelyn was a member and former secretary, clerk and Chapel Choir director of the Federated Church of Sturbridge and Fiskdale and sang in the Chancel church choir until the age of 90.  She was also a member of the Women’s Fellowship at the church. She was also a longtime member of the Order of The Eastern Star. Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, Evelyn’s memorial services will be held at a later date. Private burial was in North Cemetery. Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge directed arrangements.
