Eugene Gallipeau

Eugene E. Gallipeau, 90, formerly of Southbridge died on December 26, 2013 in Ocala, Fl. after an illness.
Born in Charlton he was the son of Joseph and Marie (Mongeon) Galipeau. Eugene was a graduate of Cole Trade School of Southbridge and earned his teaching certificate from Fitchberg State College.
He worked for A & M Tool and Die of Southbridge and then G & F Industries of Sturbridge until he retired in 1986.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Southbridge and Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala, Fl.
Eugene was a Navy Veteran of WW II serving on the USS Indianapolis and the USS Geneva in the south pacific.
He leaves his wife of 19 years, Phyllis Gallipeau of Fl.; three sons, Ernest P. Gallipeau of San Antonio, Tx., Francis E. Gallipeau and Robert N.Gallipeau both of Southbridge,Ma.; two daughters, Susan M. Gallipeau of Fitchberg,Ma., Anne M. Provost of Holland, Ma.; 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and a sister-in-law, Helen Galipeau of Sturbridge,Ma.
Eugene was predeceased by his first wife of 45 years, Doreen (LaPlante) Gallipeau who died in 1993; one son, Dennis Gallipeau who died in 1971; one daughter, Elaine Gallipeau who died in 1995 and one grandson, Eugene Gallipeau who died in 2005.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Holland Congregational Church, 11 Sturbridge Road, Holland, Ma.
Burial will be private in Southbridge at the convenience of the family.
