Emily Rizner

UNION, CT: Emily Bloniarz Rizner, who lived in Union, died Wednesday, November 4th at the age of 66. 

 

She leaves 3 daughters: Dr. Amanda Rizner and her husband Todd Chrisman of Shapleigh, ME; Rachel Rizner and her fiance Adam Huntley of Burbank, CA; and Jaimie Rizner of East Boston.  She also leaves her father Chester Bloniarz of Rockville, CT, as well as six sisters and two brothers.  She is predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Paul Rizner, who passed away in February of this year.

 

Emily was born in Rockville, CT to Helen and Chester Bloniarz.  She graduated from Ellington High School and earned her B.S. degree from UCONN.  She was elected Treasurer of the Town of Union, and served in that capacity for many years.  She enjoyed knitting and crocheting for others, and created many beautiful pieces for friends and family.  She loved singing in the St. Anne's and Quinebaug Valley Singers choirs.  She loved to talk to people, and her joyful presence will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

 

Her funeral will be held Monday, November 9, 2015, at 10:00 A.M. in the Belanger Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge.  Calling hours will be held Sunday, November 8, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. in the funeral home
