Elda Dwyer

March 9, 1943 — August 31, 2017

HOLLAND:  Elda M. Dwyer (Carnevale), 74, of Wales Road passed away in her home on Thursday, August 31st after an illness, surrounded by her family. Elda is survived by her husband of forty-nine years, David Dwyer; her son:  Stephen Dwyer and his wife Kathleen of Lunenburg; her daughters:  Amy Smith and her husband Gregory of West Boylston and Alison Carlisle and her husband James of Holland; nine grandchildren: Casey and his wife Lauren, Mackenzie and his wife Savanna, Kailey, Riley, Joseph, Philip, Caitlin, Ashley and Jack.  Elda was born on March 9, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Iside (Picchio) Carnevale. Elda graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree from Boston College with a degree in special education.  Elda worked in special education retiring from Algonquin Regional High School after twenty-three years. She continued to provide teaching instruction following her retirement until May 2017. Elda enjoyed cooking, shopping, reading, vacation at Myrtle Beach and spending time with family.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Elda’s name to the UMASS Cancer Center, 55 Lake Ave., Worcester, MA 01605. A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, September 5th at 3:00 P.M. in St. Rose of Lima Parish, 244 W. Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.  Reception to follow at the American Legion, 402 W. Main Street, Northborough, MA 01532.
