Edwin Ortiz

SOUTHBRIDGE: Edwin Ortiz, 61, passed away on May 23. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Denise (Lavigueur) Ortiz, who passed away on February 20, 2005.

Edwin is survived by his two sons, EJ Ortiz and his companion Bernice Vazquez of Southbridge, and Rico Ortiz of Southbridge, as well as his cherished grandson, Edwin Ortiz III. He also leaves behind his siblings: Maria E. Ortiz, Maria D. Ortiz, Carmen Ortiz, Narsisa Ortiz, Rafael Ortiz, Casimiro Ortiz, and Jose L. Ortiz, all residing in Southbridge.

Born in Puerto Rico to Dilia Aponte and Francisco Ortiz, Edwin spent most of his life in the Southbridge area. 

He dedicated many years to working at L&P Converters and was known for his handy skills, often helping others in the community with odd jobs. 

Edwin had a passion for baseball, which led to him playing in the Henry Street Softball League. He was a quiet and dependable man who enjoyed taking walks and remained deeply devoted to the memory of his wife, Denise.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours on Sunday, June 8, from 6 to 8 PM at the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, located at 51 Marcy St., Southbridge.
