Douglas V Adriance

December 12, 1965 — August 16, 2023

Formerly of Holland

Douglas V Adriance 58, parked his truck for good, and had one last ride in the home that he loved and built in Boilvar Oh on 8/16 2023. Formally of (Holland Ma)

Doug worked hard from the age of 16, becoming a truck driver and eventually the owner operator of Vintage Transportation. He was a human gps, and could macgiver himself or his truck out of anything.  If he wasn’t an hour early for a delivery, then he was late.

Many might not know but there were countless stories of him pulling people out of Fiery accidents he had witnessed on the road, he always stayed long enough to make sure help came, and he would leave and call his family.  He never wanted recognition.  He did it because thats he was who he was. He would help anyone in need.

Doug was also an excellent Chef, and and one point he opened a seafood place in Ohio called the Maine Dish so that new England seafood could be enjoyed fresh. He would truck fresh seafood in on the weekends to help with this.  He enjoyed catering clambakes and seeing other people enjoy what he made.
Doug could make anyone smile, he could walk into a bad situation and make friends.  He always went the extra mile or 200 for you.

Doug had courage that was at times enviable.  Doug lived his life on his terms and how he wanted, but never hung up the phone without saying I love you to his mother or sister.  He never backed down from a fight no matter what the outcome.    For anyone who knew him, we all knew enough to never dare him to do anything because he would do it. Doug was the reason for the safety videos everyone has to watch now.

He will be missed by so many
He leaves an emptiness in those he has left behind including the darkness of the cancer that will consume another, if it could take down the mighty Doug, we are all no match. He leaves
his mom, Dorothy (Starcyk) Cloutier, of (Holland Ma),
his sons Douglas Adriance and Zachary Adriance (Wales Ma)
His older brother David Piela and his wife Nina, and their son Adam from West Brookfield Ma
A younger sister Kim Foustoukos her husband John and their children Kyle Blouin, Kali Blouin, Nikolas, Paige and Jon Foustoukos.
He is pre-deceased by his older brother Raymond (1994)
Also pre-deceased by his step father Armand who taught him the trucking industry)
and pre deceased by his biological father Douglas Adriance.
He also leaves his beautiful black Doberman Bit, she was always there for him till the end.
Doug also leaves Karla the person he married.

The amount of friends that were like family to him shows what a life he led and how he will be missed in both Massachusetts and Ohio
The Herrick family from Holland Ma
Todd and Marshell Watson from Bolivar helping him out so much and all of his neighbors from Bolivar for being there.

The Truckers Last Ride

He traveled the roads
in years gone past
a life he chose
and hoped it would last
Driving all night
from state to state
Trying to get home
and arriving so late.
He parked his truck now,
his engine has stopped.
And those who love him
their hearts have dropped.
He traveled the country
with a smile of great pride.
Now he drives the streets of Heaven
on the Truckers last ride.
May God ride with you
10-4 and goodbye.

In Loving Remembrance
Doug Adriance
