SOUTHBRIDGE: David R. Spielvogel, 66, of Clemence Hill Rd, died Thursday, Dec. 10th in his home after being stricken ill. He leaves his daughter Leigh Hunt Spielvogel and her husband Kevin P. Callahan of Jersey City, NJ; two brothers Dr. Richard L. Spielvogel of Devon, Pa; Robert A. Spielvogel of Brooklyn, CT; a sister Dr. Ruth S. Campanella of Steamboat Springs, CO; and several nephews and nieces.
He was born in Southbridge the son of Chester and Dorothy (Wright) Spielvogel and lived in the New York City pursuing his career then returning to Southbridge in 1992. He graduated from Mary E. Wells High School, Hamilton College and earned his MBA at Rutgers University.
David was a self employed CFO for several businesses including the Pioneer Foundation. He also was an advocate for the Charter School movement.
He was and avid reader of history and devoted to his extended family.
His funeral will be held at 10:00AM, Tuesday, Dec. 15th in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Calling hours are 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, Dec. 14th in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the
