Catherine Gibbs

CHARLTON – Catherine (Naramore) Gibbs, 87, of Masonic Home Rd., formerly of Nantucket, died at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center, Thursday, July 15.  Her husband, Bertram Gibbs, died in 1979.  She leaves a daughter, Patricia Seldomridge, and her husband, Robert, of NY; two sons, David Gibbs, of NY, and Bruce Gibbs, of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren; nieces and nephews. 

She was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Bertram and Lillian (Hale) Naramore, and grew up in the area, graduating from Concord High School.

She was a Girl Scout Commissioner in Queens, NY.  She enjoyed flower gardens, especially hydrangeas.  She also enjoyed giving people tours of the First Congregational Church of Nantucket which required a climb of 110 stairs.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Nantucket.

Calling hours are 1:00 – 4:00pm, Saturday, July 17, at the Masonic Home Chapel, 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton.  A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm during the calling hours.  Burial will be at a later date in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Nantucket.  The Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St., Southbridge, is directing arrangements.
