Carol (Fitzpatrick) Hanson, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2018 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester MA.
She was born December 25, 1934 in Southbridge, MA, to Loretta (Proulx) and Royce Fitzpatrick.
Carol graduated from Boston University and went on to teach English and History at Tantasqua High School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Southbridge, the Southbridge Women's Club, Women's Auxiliary at Harrington Hospital, the Playreader’s Group, and was a longtime member of the Southbridge Garden Club. She was an enthusiastic supporter of the Jacob Edwards Library in Southbridge.
Carol found great pleasure in reading, gardening, and traveling with her family. She devoted her life to her children and grandsons, and cherished spending time with them above all else. In her free time, Carol could be found feeding and watching birds, planting a colorful garden, or telling someone about a great book she'd read. Her heart was full of love, which she shared by sending notes and cards to everyone: old friends and even people she hardly knew.
Carol will be greatly missed by her three children, John and wife Christine, Bradford, Audrey Davis and her husband Marquis, and two grandsons who she loved and believed in Charles and Austin Davis. She was predeceased by her brother, Royce Fitzpatrick, Jr.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018 at 11:30, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge. Calling hours will be held from 10:00AM-11:30AM prior to the service.
