CLERMONT – Carlos J. Perez, 31, of Hartle Groves Place, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2026.
Carlos is survived by his beloved high school sweetheart, Danielle Rinehart, whom he married on May 7, 2021; his children, Bellalee Perez, Alaiah Perez, and Cedric Perez; his parents, Juan C. Perez of Webster and Damaris Viruet of Southbridge; his sisters, Carla Perez and Zuly Perez, both of Lawrenceville, Georgia; his brothers, Ben Ortega and Leo Ortega, both of Southbridge, and Adrian Perez of Webster; his maternal grandparents, Ismael Viruet and Carmen Rosario; his nieces, Sara Torres, Janyahlee Ortega, and Sophia Ortega; his nephews, Kevin Bonilla, Jakolby Ortega, Kayden Bonilla, and Elijah Ortega; and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Carlos was preceded in death by his beloved paternal grandparents, Tito Perez and Carmen Rivera.
Carlos was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts, to Juan C. Perez and Damaris Viruet, where he spent his childhood. He graduated from Southbridge High School, where he met the love of his life, Danielle. After graduation, he attended classes at Quinebaug Community College in Killingly before discovering his passion for engineering.
Carlos worked for many years as a Senior Maintenance Engineer with Ocado Group before recently beginning an exciting new chapter in his career with Amazon as a Senior Mechatronics & Robotics Engineer, a role he was incredibly proud and excited to begin.
Carlos had many passions, including music and movies. He especially loved taking his family to the movie theater and collecting specialty popcorn buckets from the films they watched together. Spontaneous by nature, he was always planning impromptu trips and new adventures for his family. Florida always held a special place in his heart, and in 2021, he fulfilled his dream of settling down there with his family. Nothing brought Carlos greater happiness than being a husband and father. Every adventure he planned, every laugh he shared, and every memory he created was rooted in the deep love he had for his family.
Carlos was devoted to his family. He was the heart of his family—the one who brought everyone together—and believed the greatest gift in life was the love shared between family. He was the glue that held everyone close and always encouraged those he loved to remain connected, support one another, and love each other unconditionally. Every moment spent with his family and friends was one he truly cherished.
Kind, compassionate, loving, and incredibly funny, Carlos had a remarkable sense of humor that could brighten anyone’s day. He loved making people laugh and found joy in being the goofy dad his children adored. Whether he was telling jokes or turning an ordinary day into an adventure, he had a way of making every moment more fun. He filled the lives of those around him with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories, his children, and all who knew him, will carry those cherished memories with them forever.
Carlos also never missed an opportunity to remind Danielle how much she meant to him. He often left her heartfelt notes filled with love and encouragement—notes she treasures to this day as lasting reminders of the life they built together.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the love Carlos shared, the laughter he brought, and the memories he created will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
A quote Carlos held close to his heart was: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Calling hours and a service for Carlos will be held on Saturday, July 11, at Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA., from 12-2PM.
In honor of Carlos, the family requests that everyone wear white.
