Beverly Kollios

October 10, 1927 — March 10, 2018

NORTHBOROUGH: Beverly L. Kollios, 90, passed away on March 10, 2018, at the Coleman House due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Beverly, the daughter of the late Raymond Lloyd Kezar and Margaret (Yates) Kezar, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on October 10, 1927. She grew up and lived most of her adult life in Southbridge, MA. After graduating Mary E. Wells High School in Southbridge, she attended Ohio State University in Columbus before transferring to the Boston School of Occupational Therapy and Tufts University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She worked for a short time as an occupational therapist before marrying Sofoclis Kollios on January 19, 1952. An only child who married into a big Greek family, Beverly enjoyed 66 years of marriage with Sof and her time with his sisters and brothers. From the beginning, Beverly worked and supported Sofoclis in his luncheonette, Sof’s Central Spa, until their retirement. A devoted mother of two, she enjoyed painting, gardening, and knitting, and passed on her creativity to both her children. She was a dedicated member of her church and taught Sunday school for many years. She took very good care of the birds that frequented her backyard on Eastford Road. Bev and Sof loved exploring other places and visiting friends and family. After retiring in the 1980s, Bev and Sof spent time travelling to Greece, Hawaii, California, and throughout New England. Beverly continued to work part-time for Cormier Jewelers on Center Street, where her coworkers made her feel like family. Beverly is survived by her husband, Sofoclis Kollios; her daughter Cynthia Kollios and son-in-law Robert Kirzinger; her son Neil Kollios and daughter-in-law Martha Colby, her sisters-in-law Etsa and Dottie and her brother-in-law Charlie, and by her many nieces and nephews and their families. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. The Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy Street, Southbridge, MA, has been entrusted with arrangements. There will be a private burial for Beverly this spring.    <iframe id="tukios_player_512x330" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/NJ4QJR2R66KMK55Y" width="512"></iframe>
