SOUTHBRIDGE: Barbara A. (Chaosky) Thompson died October 20, 2014 at the age of 65.
She leaves her husband of 42 years Roger Thompson Jr.; 2 sons Roger Thompson III of Dudley, Stephen Thompson of Southbridge; a brother George S. Chaosky Jr. of Meriden, CT, 2 sisters Ilona Speringo of Guilford, CT, and Julie Chaosky of Branford, CT., 2 grandchildren Ivy Thompson and Molly Mongeon-Thompson.
Barbara was born in Bridgeport, CT the daughter of late George S. and Helen (Kelemen) Chaosky. She earned her Master's Degree in Teaching from UCONN and went on to teach Special Education for the Holland Elementary School and later worked as owner/operator as a licensed daycare provider throughout the 80's. She also was a machine operator for Aero Co. in Southbridge until her retirement. Barbara was an avid volunteer for the Mohegan Council, Boy Scouts of America for 13 years, where she became District Commissioner. A member of St. Mary's Parish, she sang in the choir and cooked and baked for the Church Bazaars where she was famous for her brownies. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, enjoyed life and most of all loved her family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 at 10:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II parishes, 263 Hamilton St. Southbridge. (Please go directly to church).
Calling hours are 2PM to 4PM, Sunday, Nov. 2, in the Belanger-Bullard Funeral Home, 51 Marcy St. Southbridge.
