Arlene Marcy

SOUTHBRIDGE/WOODSTOCK VALLEY – Arlene F. (Barrett) Marcy, 94, formerly of Shaw Rd., Woodstock Valley, CT, died Monday, August 23, in Radius Healthcare Center of Southbridge.  She was born in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Hazel (Keach) Barrett.  She was predeceased by her husband, Max Marcy (1981).  She is survived by her two sons, Ronald Marcy and his wife Jean Marcy and Robert Marcy; her daughter, Maxine Marcy and her husband David Osier, all of Woodstock, CT; her sister, Eunice Lester, of Quincy, FL; three grandchildren, Melissa Desrosiers of Woodstock, CT, Jessica Gill of Braintree, MA, and Christina Gregorzek of Thompson, CT; two great grandchildren, Tarryn and Hayden; two step grandchildren, Heather French and Rebecca Gallo; one step great grandchild, Joseph Gallo III; many nieces and nephews.

She retired from Hale Manufacturing in 1980.  On July 30, 2010, Arlene was recognized by the Woodstock Grange with a “75 Year Certificate” for her devoted service and membership.  She was a faithful member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in West Woodstock and of the Putnam Travelers Club.  She enjoyed traveling, bird watching, horticulture, day-trips to the beach and cherished many friendships.
